Day 350: Recap!

Day 344: Don't Lose Hope

Today we talked about holding on to hope. We talked about holding on to hope in a world that seems hopeless, and knowing that as long as we have Christ, it's not over! We focused on 2 Chronicles 15:7 and Isaiah 41:10.

"There’s so much going on in the world that will make us lose hope in many things, but don’t let what you see or what you’re going through at the present moment make you lose hope in the Father."

Day 345: Step Out of the Boat

Today had to be one my favorite days so far, we talked about how Peter just had the courage to step out of the boat. We talked about taking the first step and having enough faith just like Peter to step out of the boat. We talked about what it takes to get to our 'waking on water' moment. We focused on Matthew 14:28-29. 

"Too many of us are missing our “walking on water” moments because we are afraid to step out of the boat. We’re too focused on the fact that we might sink so in order to protect ourselves we stay in the boat where it’s safe."

Day 346: Live For Something That Matters

Today we talked about living for something bigger and better than ourselves. We talked about how we can sometimes be selfish with our gifts and our prayers but we talked about turning those prayers outward and expanding His kingdom. We focused on Mark 8:35.

"We pray for change but it never crosses our mind that God sent us to where we are because we are the change that we have been praying for."

Day 347: Fight For It

Today we talked about fighting for what we want and fighting for the things that we know are worth fighting for. We talked about how Jacob fought with angel for his blessing, even with a dislocated hip. We talked about how we should not let the pain stop us, but if it's worth it, we have to keep fighting and see the blessing that comes from it. We focused on Genesis 32:22-29.

"We have to hold on to the things we think are worth fighting for, even if it means we have to deal with the pain of holding on."

Day 348: What's Your Passion

Today we talked about our passions we talked about finding that one thing that we are so passionate about and the thing we know we are meant to do and be. We talked about how we often have this idea that being a Christian means we stop being who we are, meaning we have to give up the things we love and our personalities and even sometimes our culture. We focused on Philippians 1:6, Psalms 32:8, and Proverbs 16:3.

"God Himself can be telling us to take the path that leads us to our dreams but we are sometimes too concerned with thinking that because we aren’t doing it the religious way or because we aren’t doing it in a church we are sinning. God can use you wherever  and whenever."

Day 349: What Will You Do

Today we talked about what we will do and say in the face of adversity. We talked about how we will use our platforms, our voices, our lives to speak up when it comes to things like injustice, equality, peace, truth, etc. We talked about how all of these things starts with us, these changes that we want to see and implement starts with us. We cannot wait for someone else, we have to do it, whatever "it" may be. We focused on John 3:16, Matthew 5:14-16, Galatians 6:2, and Matthew 25:35-40.

"We often think that these are not our battles or our conversations. By overlooking the things that are causing the world so much pain how are we helping to heal. By looking over our brother or sister who is starving and struggling how are we doing God’s will?"

Day 343: Recap

Today, take the time to go back over what we discussed this week. Whatever spoke to you the most dive a little deeper into it. I’m not doing a day by day Recap today. Today as you finish going over this week take the time to pray on that subject. But also take the time to pray for you me country. Take the time to pray for those affected by the fires in California. Also take the time to pray for those in Libya. People have been taken from their homes and sold into slavery, we need to pray for those people. A lot has gone on this week from politics to natural disasters, and college students everywhere preparing for and everything finals week. Life our people up in pray. Today pray for our nations and our people and our leaders.

Day 329: Recap!

Day 323: All In A Day's Work

Today we talked about how God does so much in a day that in our eyes in would amount up to a thousand years. We talked about how God is constantly moving and even though we may have to wait a bit longer His timing is nothing less than perfect. We focused on 2 Peter 3:8.

"It’s really God that’s giving us the means to take care of ourselves. We have to set ourselves aside to see and understand how the glory of God is constantly being played out in our lives."

Day 324: God Wants the Best For Us

Today we talked about how God only wants the best for us. We talked about the common misperception that God is some mean old man in the sky that wants us all to perish. Spoiler alert, it's not true. We focused on 2 Peter 3:9.

"He calls us to repentance so that anything blocking us from Him can be removed and we can have freedom to dwell in His presence."

Day 325: Patience My Love

Today we talked about seasons inspired by the Hillsong Worship song 'Seasons" off their later album. We focused on the lyric, "If you are not done working, then God I'm not done waiting." We focused on Psalms 27:14.

"Sometimes we act as if God is only making us wait because He can, we act as of God is making us wait for no reason at all. But have we ever considered that the reason we are still waiting is because God is not done working?"

Day 326: Thanksgiving!

So today was thanksgiving in America, so we talked about taking the time out not to ask for anything but to thank God. We talked about how important it is to sometimes just stop and thank God for all the wonderful things He has done and He is doing. We focused on Psalms 28:7 and Psalms 30:12. 

"There is something beautiful about acknowledging what He has done and what He continues to do."

Day 327: Ride It Out 

Today we talked about waves and surfing, and what that means is we talked about how living life can sometimes feel like trying to surf a storm without falling off your board. We talked about how sometimes the storm can be very strong but we have to ride it out. We focused on Hebrews 10:32-36. 

"Life is scary, sometimes those waves are bigger than we thought, but even in those moments of fear we have to ride them out. God knows what we can take and we cannot just walk away because we are afraid, but we must endure, we must endure because we know what’s on the other side, we know what it will all be worth in the end."

Day 328: It Makes No Sense

Today we talked about walking in the light, and how if we are going to walk in the light with Christ we cannot have an ounce of darkness in us. We talked about how we sometimes hold on to darkness because for the longest time it was all we knew. We focused on 1 John 1:5-7.

"It makes no sense for us to claim that we walk in light when we are still living in darkness. We must let go of anything keeping us in the dark and know that God is taking us on a beautiful journey and we cannot get to where we are going in we cannot see, spiritually and physically."

Day 316: This Beautiful Romance 


Today we talked about having a relationship with God and how it is a special kind of relationship. We talked about how it is similar to a marriage, and how God is committed to us. We also touched a bit on our commitment to God. We focused on Ephesians 5:25-27 and Isaiah 62:5.

" God doesn’t want a casual relationship with us, He wants a marriage, He wants us to be with Him for all eternity."

Day 317: Knowing God for Ourselves

Today we continued the theme of having a relationship with God, but today we talked about getting to know God for ourselves. We talked about when it comes to entering into a relationship with God and giving our lives to Him, that decision is completely on us. We talked about how we cannot depend on anyone to grasp salvation for us, we must receive it for ourselves. We focused on John 14:6.

"We have to come to know God for who He is, we must profess our own faith. We must repent for our own sins. Our parents, our mentors, our pastors, no one can do that for us."

Day 318: Light Up My World

Today we talked about how the word of God lights up our lives, how it livens our spirits and our world. We talked about how the word of God is like a lamp on dark path and it guides and instructs us through life. We focused on 2 Peter 1:18-21

"The word of God has provided us with a way to sustain while here on earth, it has instructed us to live while we are still here but to look forward to what is to come."

Day 319: So Will I

Today was inspired by Hillsong United's song, 'So Will I' we talked about how all creation reveals the glory of God. We focused on Psalms 19:1-4. We talked about how if the earth worships God we will also, and of Jesus gladly chose surrender so will we. 

"Everything reveals a bit more about who God is, it tells us a little more about His love for creation and humanity."

Day 320: When God Blocks

Today we talked about how sometimes God is the one blocking our paths and closing doors. We often blame it on the enemy but sometimes God stands in the way of what we are trying to do because it is not what He wants or has planned for us. We focused on Numbers 22:21-34. 

"Everything is not the devil’s work, God works a million times more than satan."

Day 321: Half Empty or Half Full

Today we talked about perspective we talked about being content with we are and where God has us in our lives. We talked about how sometimes we are so focused on having the glass full that we miss what God is doing right in front of us because we're too busy looking at the glass as half empty. Therefore constantly trying to fill it. We focused on, 1 Timothy 6:6 and Philippians 4:11.

"Sometimes we are so focused on getting to next place and getting more than we already have that we miss God. We are overlooking what God is doing right now because we are so concerned with what He is going to do or what we want to do."

Day 281: God's Grace and Forgiveness

Today we talked about God's grace and not taking it for granted. We talked about how we often used God's grace as a freedom to sin because we know He will forgive us and continue to love us no matter what. We focused on Ephesians 1:7, Daniel 9:9, Hebrews 10:17, Acts 3:19, and 1 John 1:19.

"God is loving and graceful, and will love us forever no matter what we don. However, let’s value our relationship with Him enough so that we will want to live our lives with Him, and devote our hearts to Him. Not take it back whenever we decide that we want to sin and give it back when we want our conscious cleared."

Day 282: This Temporary World

Today we talked about how fleeting this world can be and how we must not put our trust in the tangible things, but rather put our trust and faith in God. We talked about how at the end of the day when all else is gone, if we do not have God we have nothing. We can have everything we ever wanted or dreamed of, but if we don't have Christ we have nothing because He is our everything. we focused on 1 Timothy 6:6-8, 17-19, and Mark 8:35-37.

"We cannot walk through life very long trying to fulfill ourselves off of worldly possession and tangible things. Now I’m not saying that we are to walk around denying ourselves the joys of the world. What I’m saying is, do not be defined or identified by the joys of this world but let your identity be in Christ."

Day 283: Faithful God

Today we talked about God's faithfulness, how even when we are unfaithful to Him, He remains faithful to us. We talked about how committed God is to His people. We also talked about how God will not send us someone who is unfaithful. We focused on 2 Timothy 2:13.

"When we have our moments of being unfaithful, He doesn’t stop being faithful us, instead His love for us remains the same, because that is who He is. God loves us so much that instead of walking away from us, He forgives us, and works through it with us."

Day 284: When Everyone Else Leaves

Today we talked about how God is always there for us and that He will never desert us. We talked about how sometimes people walk out of our lives, and sometimes we feel like we are going through it alone, or fighting battles on our own. But God is always there, even when we don't think He is and when everyone else leaves, He's always there. We focused on 2 Timothy 4:16-18.

"God loves us way too much to leave us. He will never leave us to live life on our own or fight by ourselves. Every second of every hour of every day He is right there with us. God never leaves us or walks away from us, we walk away from Him, and even then He is still protecting us and giving us life."

Day 285: Living Well (Series)

Today we started our "Living Well" series, where we will explore what it really means to live well. Today we talked about what that means and how in order to live well we must live like Christ, love like Him and walk like Him. Living well means having a relationship with God and a solid foundation in Him. We focused on James 3:13-18.

"We cannot live well, or have a good life outside of Christ."

Day 286: Living Well Series (Part 2)- Winning At Life

Today we talked about winning at life and how exactly we do that. We posed the question, "Are we really winning at life if we are not living with Christ?" We talked about the many definitions the world has for winning but Christ has already given us the tools we need to truly win. We focused on 1 John 5:12.

"As long as we have Christ we are winning, if we define winning at life by how successful we are, we will never truly be winning."

Day 280: Recap!

Day 274: The One He Left the 99 to Find

Today we talked about the measures Jesus took just to save us. We talked about how He would be willing to leave the 99 to find the one that was lost, to find to one that had strayed. We talked about how great His love is for us that He would do something like that. We focused on Luke 15:3-7.

"He loves us so much that instead of replacing us, which He can do if He wanted, He leaves the ninety-nine to find us. "

Day 275: More Than Exist

Today we discussed how we are to do more than just exist and "get by". We talked about how God wants to live our life and enjoy it, He gave us a life for a reason. We talked about how sometimes we are so focused on making life "worth living" and overlooking the fact that every moment is worth living. How we should not wait for life to be perfect before we start living. We focused on Ecclesiastes 18:5, 3:11-13, and11:9.

"What I’m saying is, life is beautiful, enjoy it, be happy. Don’t get stuck in going through the motions. There’s more than just getting by. Why only stay afloat when we can swim."

Day 276: Good to Everyone

Today we talked about being good to everyone. We talked about how we are not to live our lives seeking revenge on the one's that have hurt us or done us wrong, but we are to love and be kind. With everything going on in the world we can use some kindness. We focused on 1 Thessalonians 5:15.

" Treat others how you want to be treated not how they treat you, There is something so freeing and beautiful about not seeking revenge but loving people through the pain and doing good in evil situations."

Day 277: Less Talk More Prayer

Today we talked about how easy it is to gossip but more beneficial to pray. We talked about how prayer can change things while gossiping lips do nothing but spread things. One works and the other doesn't. We were challenged to pray for people, and not talk about them, and actually pray when we're saying we're going to. We focused on Psalms 34:13, 1 Thessalonians, 5:25, 1 Timothy 2:1-2, and Galatians 6:1. 

"It’s easy to gossip and talk about people but how much better would it be if we talked to God about them, If we prayed for them. We can easily go to a friend and talk about how bad someone is doing and have it change nothing but what about when we talk to God about it."

Day 278: Patience With Everyone

Today we talked about patience with other people. We talked about how one of the fruits of the spirit is patience and that it is one of the many ways in which we are called to love our neighbors. We focused on 1 Thessalonians 5:14.

"If we took the time to encourage and take care of one another, being patient would not be an issue. But the problem with that is taking time for someone else is taking time away from self. When we think about it,  impatience is a pretty selfish trait."

Day 279: Hold On to What is Good

Today we talked about how we are to hold on to what is good. We talked about how there are certain thing sin our lives that stick with us forever. We talked about taking hold of the good things and doing away with all the bad and evil things that life has to offer. We focused on 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22

"Even if we do hold on to things that are bad for us, or the things people have done to us to hurt us, we eventually come to the realization that it is not good for us. So  we let those things go. However the things that are good tend to stick with us forever, and that’s the beautiful thing about life. We are so often under the impression that we as humans remember the bad things over the good, however that is not always true. No matter how angry we are at someone, and we may not want to admit it, there is so much good we see in them."

Day 260: What You Need Me to Be

Today we talked about the lengths that Paul went to brag the message of Christ to all people. To make sure the everyone heard the gospel. We talked about how we as people often overlook people who are in need of help, and we must be willing to go to the places no one is willing to go, just to bring the message of Christ to someone. We focused on 1 Corinthians 9:19-23.

" We are so concerned with containing our Christian composure and making sure that our spirits are not 'tainted' that we are not really doing all we can to make sure someone’s soul is set free."

 Day 261: A Way Out

Today we talked about how God always provides us with a way out. We talked about how He will not allow us to be tempted pass what we can stand. We talked about how we sometimes decide to sin and then blame everything but ourselves. We focused on 1 Corinthians 10:12-13.

"Who you are in Christ is much stronger than your flesh and it’s worldly desires."

Day 262: Our Way

Today we talked about a classic biblical story, we discussed Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar. We discussed how sometimes we think or act like we know more than God. We act as if He does not know what He is doing therefore we must take matters into our own hands. We also talked about how we decide to move on our own when we get impatient with God. We focused on Genesis 15:2-5, 16:1-5: 18:10-15, and 21:1-5.

"We do not know more than God. It’s easy to take matters into our own hands because we think we know what we’re doing, but when we compare our knowledge to God’s we literally have no idea what He has in store for us."

Day 263: The Split Personalities of Christianity

Today we talked about how we often put our life as a Christian separate from our everyday living. We treat our lifestyle as a follower of Christ as something that can be turned on and off at will. We discussed how we are a Christian at all times, in front of all people, and our lives should not be separated into two categories. We also touched on how we often act as if our humanity is stripped from us because we are Christ followers. We focused on Galatians 2:11-13.

"We are so concerned with how people will see us and what they will think or say that we allow ourselves to put up a facade. It’s like putting on a mask that we remove from time to time to reveal and cover who we really are. We allow ourselves to create a separate identity that is only unleashed when “we don’t have to be Christian”. Once again, there is never a moment when we are not Christian."

Day 264: Our Set Time

Today we talked about how God has set a time for each and every one of us. We talked about how sometimes God is allowing us to grow and mature, he is moulding us into the people He needs us to be before He pours out His blessings upon us. We talked about how we must be patient and trust His timing because we will always to come the realization of how perfect His timing actually is. We focused on Galatians 4:1-2.

" I feel like sometimes God is telling us to wait a little longer so we can mature a little more. He’s teaching us as we go, He’s making us into the people He wants to be so that whenever we receive what God has for us, we will be ready."

Day 265: All the Time #WasteTheirTime2017

Today we touched on relationships a bit and talked about how sometimes people only want our attention so it's not given to someone else. We talked about how sometimes someone who doesn't really want us in their lives will do everything they can to keep us, just so we won't be a part of someone else's. You gotta read it. We focused on Galatians 4:17-18.

"Like Paul says, it’s alright if people want to do good things for you, but let them do it all the time. Let them be the same all the time. Let them do it in private just as in public."

Day 233: Recap!

Day 226: Unpacking Romans 12-Good Overcomes Evil

Today we finished out the "Unpacking Romans 12" series and addressed some of the issues facing our world and communities today. We talked about how love is the only way to move forward and get past all the hate be spewed by so many people. We talked about how even in the midst of all of the injustice and racial tensions we must pray for those who are persecuting us. We focused on Romans 12:21.
"The only way we can overcome the evils of this world is by doing good. Evil cannot beat good. Hate cannot beat love. Dark cannot be light. Fear cannot beat hope. So today I want to encourage the body of Christ to love in the face of hate, to do good in the face of  evil. Be a light in the dark."

Day 227: All Summed Up

Today we broke down Romans 13:8-10 and as you can read in the devo, it had me shook! We talked about how through love we are fulfilling the law set forth by God through Mosed in the Torah. We talked about how loving God and loving each other drives us to righteousness and allows us to follow the laws of God and obey all of His commandments (you gotta read it).

"By obeying these two commands we obey all ten commandments. We do not ignore the law in the name of Jesus instead we honor it by following His path. What I mean is that Jesus gave us these two great commands to love God and love people. Now if we love God, ourselves, and others these commandments are fulfilled. Simply because love is the foundation of it all. We don’t hurt the people we love, we won’t steal from them, kill them, covet what have, sow discord, because love won’t allow us to do it. It’s almost as if love obeys the commands for us. When we love God we won’t put anything before Him or use His name in vain. Love won’t allow it."

Day 228: Pass No Judgement

Today we start a three part series, kind of. We talked about Romans 14: 1-6, and for the next two day we built on this subject. Today we talked about passing judgements on others who decide to live differently than us. We were talking about those who live sinful lives as opposed to Godly lives. We talked about how we as Christians choose how we want to live our lives and that looks different for each of us. Some of us are more traditional while others are more modern or contemporary, just to name one scenario.

"All this to say, for lack of better words, don’t be petty. Don’t pass judgement on someone and doubt their devotion to Christ because their life does not look exactly like yours. We as the body of Christ should be lifting each other up, praying for one another every chance we get. That way, there’s no time or room to be petty and judgmental."

Day 229: You Decide

Today we built on yesterday's subject by talking about the lives we choose to live. We talked about how for certain areas in our lives we get to choose whether it's right or not. We talked about a number of subjects like choosing to drink or not to drink. We talked about how some things are looked down upon or deemed sinful within the Christian community but they aren't actually a sin. We also talked about not being made to feel guilty about your decisions. We focused on Romans 14:22-23 and Ecclesiastes 9:7.

" I think many times we kind of set up boundaries to keep ourselves from sinning. We live these compact lives in these boxes of comfort that will keep us out of harm's way, keep us from temptation and sin. We are so concerned with not sinning that we forget to live."

Day 230: Don't Be A Stumbling Block

Today we talked about not doing anything that will cause our brother or sister to stumble. We talked about how it's not always what we choose to do that causes someone else to stumble. But it can be our judgments and our need to look like good Christians by tearing someone else down because we don't agree with the life they are leading. We focused on Romans 14:13, 19.

"I believe there is something much bigger than whether we agree or disagree, that doesn’t matter. What does matter is that people are not turned away by our judgmental faces and comments. What matters is that we put someone’s soul before our opinions. What matters is that we do not become the obstacle someone has to get over in order to get to Christ."

Day 231: The Sheep and the Shepherd

Today we talked about following God and listening to His voice. We dove into the analogy of the sheep and the shepherd and how it is synonymous to our relationship with God. We talked about how important it is for us as the sheep to listen to God and trust Him in order to have a relationship with Him. We focused on John 10:26-27.

"I think another important message to learn here is that in order for us to follow Christ and listen to His word we must trust Him. The flock trusts the shepherd with their life, everything they are depends on the shepherd, they have learned to trust their shepherd and listen to His voice. They will not follow the wrong voice either. I believe that as followers of Christ, if we do not trust Him, we are wasting our time. When we don’t trust someone we hesitate to listen to them, we question everything they do, we will not give them a chance to be a part of our life. We cannot have a solid relationship without trust."

Day 226: Unpacking Romans 12- Recap!

This week we started a new series, 'Unpacking Romans Twelve'. We are not done with the series just yet, we will continue with it into next week. However we will still do our weekly recap. So, here it goes.

Day 219: Renew Your Mind 

We started the week off with Romans 12:2, speaking about renewing our mind and changing our mindset. We talked about how when we become Christians, the way we think and the way we view the world and everything in it also changes. We talked about being likeminded with Christ. Other scriptures we focused on today were, Isaiah 55:7-9 and Matthew 22:37.

"If our mind is not renewed our life cannot be renewed. If we are still moving and thinking the same way we did when we were in the world, how are we ever going to grow in Christ. A worldly mindset does not work in a Christian body."

Day 220: One Body, Different Functions

Today we focused on Romans 12:3-8. We talked about how we are all one in Christ, yet we are all different. We talked about how we use our differences to come together to elevate the body of Christ. We also touched on how we are all equal and we are not to look down on anyone.

"We are one in Christ and nothing should divide us. We are meant to function together as one body. Yes, we are different, but we are also one in the same."

Day 221: A True Christian

Today we focused on Romans 12:9-10, we talked about the makings of a True Christian. We talked about how we are too often caught up in being a "good christian" that the truth behind our christianity fades becomes it becomes more of an image to keep up, instead of a lifestyle. We talked about being genuine and not showing fake love to people in order for us to look good as a Christian.

" A lot of times, our motives have a lot to do with how we act and ultimately how we treat each other. We have to ask ourselves why we do things sometimes, what our motives are. Are we doing something for someone because we really love them or because it will make us look or feel good?"

Day 222: Going after God

Today we focused on Romans 12:11-12, we talked about chasing after God. One of the big themes we discussed today, is knowing the difference between wanting God and needing God. We talked about how we must want God more than anything else. We discussed really having a passion for God. Other scriptures we referred to was, Jeremiah 29:13.

"One of the things I’ve learned within my almost twenty-five years of living is, need gives up drive, want puts passion behind that drive."

Day 223: Hospitality

Today we focused on Romans 12:13, and you guessed it, we talked about hospitality. We talked about how as Christians we should make all people feel welcomed and loved. We talked about how also the church should be more hospitable when it comes to welcoming strangers, or sinners.

"We must learn to welcome people with open arms and make them feel like they are loved, like they are a part of this beautiful community God has created. We never know what people are going through and one hospitable act from us could literally change the course of someone’s life."

Day 224: Bless Those Who Curse You

Today we focused on Romans 12:14, and we talked about soft answers. We talked about praying for the people who prey on us. We also talked about how those very people need our love the most and how they are probably trying to cover up their own hurt. Another scripture we focused on today was Proverbs 15:1.

" So many times I think that when we are called to turn the other cheek, or bless those who curse us, it is just as much for them as it is for us. While our faith might be being tested someone is being healed. It’s much deeper than just getting the last laugh or proving that you are mature."

Day 212: Timeless Love 

Today we talked about love and falling in love and how it can seem timeless. We talked about how we learn to love from being loved, by God. We also touched on how we must love ourselves before we love anyone else, and that love is work. We focused on Genesis 29:20 Jeremiah 31:3.

"However, just because we’re falling in love with someone doesn’t mean we stop falling in love with God. God must always come first, always. Nothing and no one should ever come before Him. We must fall in love with Him more and more everyday. It is the only way we will be able to survive and live."

Day 213: Walk Through the Door

Today we talked about taking the opportunity God is providing for us without hesitation. We talked about how we are constantly praying and asking God to open doors for us but when the time comes for us to walk through it for some reason we hesitate. We focused on Matthew 7:7.

"I think sometimes we are so concerned and caught up with “the right thing” that we overlook the right thing. What I mean is that we put so much pressure on ourselves to do what is right that we are blinded by the very idea. We become so infatuated with the idea that we start to overlook the real thing."

Day 214: You're Not a Robot

Today we talked about how we sometimes turn ourselves into Jesus serving robots in order to look like good Christians. We talked about how we often ignore our feelings and impulses because we want to make sure that we look like what a good Christian. We focused on Matthew 16:24, Luke 22:42-44.

"All this to say, when we deny our feelings because of our faith, we are chasing false strength. Meaning we want to look strong because Christians aren’t weak. We put up a facade like everything is okay when we are dying on the inside. Denying our feelings and who we are in order to serve religion only begets more issues and problems within us. Following Christ is not about looking strong or looking like a good Christian. It is about submitting our life to Christ and living a life that follow His plan and purpose.  Embrace your feelings and embrace who you are. Serve God, not religion."

Day 215: Walk With Me

Today we talked about walking with Christ and what that means. We talked about how we are meant to live with God and how it is great to do life with someone else and letting that someone else be Jesus. We focused on Colossians 2:6, Micah 6:8, Genesis 5:24, and Genesis 6:9.

" We are meant to live our lives with God. If we want to do anything in this life and in this world worth something walk with God. When we walk with God he will lead us on a path of glory. He will take us where we need to go to get us where He wants us to be."

Day 216: Walk With Each Other

Today we talked about getting along with one another and doing all we can to walk in harmony with our brothers and sisters. We talked about how even though it is sometimes hard we have to do all we can to live in unity with our neighbors. We focused on Romans 112: 10,18.

"Do what you can to live in harmony with your brothers and sisters. That is not to say that we should not guard our hearts. Guard your heart. Proverbs 4:23, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Don’t let your love be tainted because of how someone else treats you. Also don’t let your pride get in the way of you trying to get along with others. Don’t just give up on people, try and do all you can."

Day 217: Leah's Perspective

We ended the week where we started, with the same story in Genesis 29, but focusing on a different person. Today we took the time to focus on Leah and put ourselves in her shoes. We talked about how Leah was unloved and overlooked and how we often feel like that more times than not. We also talked about how God sees us when we feel invisible. We also talked about looking for love in all the wrong places and finding it in the one who is love. We focused on Genesis 29:16-35.

"All this to say, God sees you, and He loves you. Don’t look for love in all the wrong places. Even when you feel unwanted or unloved, know that God wants you and He loves you so much. More than you will ever know."
