Day 337: When the Heart Goes Bad!

John 14:17
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Today let’s talk about the heart, and the condition of it. Sometimes our heart can go bad. Not in a sense that sin has completely taken us over, which is one way a heart can go bad but in a sense that sometimes it’s too broken. What I mean by that is, we go on day by day without ever really addressing what is going on within us until it is too late. Our hearts become so broken and battered that we begin to think that there is no way out. Many of us know what a broken heart feels like, and sometimes that can seem to carry on for a very long time, the heart takes time to heal. It sometimes seems like the pain just keeps coming. We all want our hearts to remain healthy and fresh and we even get to the points when we try to convince ourselves that we are okay when we’re not. The truth about life is, sometimes it hurts, and that means our hearts will be broken. But the truth about Christ is He can put the pieces back together and make it stronger than it has ever been.

For those of you who have had your heart broken, you know what can come from it. There is so much pain that takes root, anger starts to arise, then bitterness, and unforgiveness, then hate. When our hearts are ruined because we cannot seem to get past the pain we throw ourselves into a deep and dark world of hurt. I know these things are hard to get over, I know it hurts, but somewhere we have to find hope that we will be okay again. That hope that I’m speaking about is only found in Christ. Christ is the light and the only way out of this deep, dark, painful tunnel. We cannot dwell in our pain it will get us nowhere. Facing the source of our pain is going to hurt in the moment but it’s part of the process of healing. We are in need of some healing to take place. We are all or have all been walking around with our heart’s light going more dim as we go.

I want to talk about how some of us are walking around with a rotten heart and it’s not completely our fault. Sometimes we put our hearts on the line and they get ripped to shreds and we continue to put our hearts on the line for others and continue to get hurt. Some of us are suffering from bitterness and guilt that is eating away at us. Some of us are holding grudges and harboring unforgiveness. Some of us can’t seem to let go of the things ruining us. Some of us are letting fear run wild in our hearts. I name all of these things because we are walking around everyday not dealing with what is really going on in our hearts. We can see everything in everyone else but we tend to overlook it in ourselves.
We live in a time where mental health has become more widely spoken about. But we also live in a generation that is told by older generations that we are too soft. We’re too emotional Therefore we hide our feelings we cover them up because we do not want to come off as week. Let me tell you right now, if no one else wants to deal with your broken heart, God will. If no one else wants to talk you off a ledge God will. There are too many people in our generation that are suffering because their heart has gone bad. Too many people are walking around like zombies because they do not have it in them to love anymore because they have been hurt so much. We are walking around with fake smiles trying to be okay because society says we have to be.  This is not the life God wants us to live. Yes we will go through seasons of pain, yes our hearts will be broken but God is a healer. It is not His will for us to harbor that pain or let it manifest in us. There is peace with the Father, there is healing with the Father. We get to a point where we begin to project our feelings onto God. We forget that the one who created the heart is the only one who can completely heal it.

All this to say, we have to check in with our hearts and be honest about what is really going on within us. There so much pain in each and every one of us, but trust God with your heart. He will protect it and guard it. God gave us feelings for a reason, he gave us emotions for a reason. He gave us tears for a reason. Do not allow your feelings and pain to be suppressed because of what someone else thinks. God cares for them. He sees every tear, He hears every prayer. Look for hope in Him.

Reflection/Prayer Time

Take the time to respond in whatever way you feel led. Pour your heart out to God tonight, if any of this resonated with you talk to God about it and allow Him to heal your heart. God is a healer, he wants to give you peace, let Him do it.

I love you so much! I hope you have an amazing day or evening! Be sure to share this with someone and come back tomorrow for Day 338!

Day 276: Good to Everyone!

1 Thessalonians 5:15
See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.
Paul is urging us to do good to people, not just certain people, but all people. Sometimes we pick and choose who deserves our kindness and who doesn’t. But Jesus was good to all, and if we are living our lives like Him then we must do the same.
He starts this scripture by saying pay no one back evil for evil. Meaning no playing tit for tat. Do not be out here seeking to get revenge on the people that have done you wrong or hurt you. One it’s not what Jesus would do and second, it’s not as satisfying as one would think. I know many of us knows what it’s like to want to get back at someone, to make them feel how they made you feel. Or even if we don’t get them back ourselves, we want someone to do it. Sometimes we even find ourselves praying for that revenge, like asking God to get the people that got us. I know it sucks when people hurt us, or when they do us wrong in whatever way possible, but honestly the best “revenge” you can get on someone is to love them. Kill them with kindness, do good to them. They’ll never see it coming. See people expect revenge, we sometimes expect people to get back at us for the things we’ve done, it would make us feel a whole lot better, but what makes us feel even better is grace. When people decide to love us, and do good to us instead. So when we decide to forgive and treat people well it helps them too. I know we’ve been told forgiveness is about us not the other person, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes people cannot move on until they know they are forgiven. So be good to even the people that have hurt you repay evil with good. That’s what Jesus did and by doing so He saved the entire world.
Always try to do good to each other, and to all people. Now we must love our neighbors, love everyone. Try our best to be good to everyone so that we will not hurt someone or offend them. When Paul said everyone, he meant everyone! The people we disagree with, the ones we don’t vibe with, the ones who are pretty much jerks all the time, the ones who seem lower than us (if you view yourself as above anyone we need to have a talk). Do good to all people not just the ones you like or get along with. I mean with all the evil and craziness going on in the world we can use a little good and love.
All this to say, honor people. Treat others how you want to be treated not how they treat you, There is something so freeing and beautiful about not seeking revenge but loving people through the pain and doing good in evil situations.
Reflections
  1. Have you ever been hurt by someone and wanted to get revenge on them?
  2. If you did, did it really satisfy you or stop the pain?
  3. HAve you ever prayed for karma to hit someone?
  4. What has been the outcome when you decide to love through the pain and do good in an evil or bad situation?
Prayer Time
Allow your answers to the above questions guide your prayer today. HAve a conversation with God about forgiveness and revenge, and pray for the state of our world!

I love you and I hope you have an amazing day or evening! Be sure to share this with someone and come back tomorrow for Day 277!

Day 258: The Language of Our Heart

Luke 6:45
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

We are known by the fruit we bear. We all know this scripture and many of us have grasped the meaning of it. However, sometimes we can know who people are or at least who they are pretending to be by their language. The way in which someone speaks tells a lot about who someone is, how they are perceived and it tells what is really in someone’s heart. It’s like the language of our heart, we know you by the way you speak. We know how someone feels because of the way they are speaking. Like we can know where someone is from based on their accent or the language they are speaking. If you’re speaking spanish, I know you’re either from South or North America, if you speak with a british accent I am sure I know you are from the UK, Britain, or somewhere in europe. The way we speak about people says a great deal about who we are and how we feel. Sometimes our words cannot hide our feelings we will often be deceived by what we say.

What I’m getting at here is, how do our words, the way we speak, and what we say reveal who we are. How we speak about ourselves, others, God, says a great deal about where our hearts truly are. I’m not talking about profanity, swearing, or cursing, that’s another conversation, but I’m talking about the contents of our heart. Whatever is on our lips reveals what is in our hearts. What I’m saying is, is the word of God on our lips, and furthermore is it in our hearts? See when we have the word of God in our lives, and it written on our hearts, the condition of our hearts are in great shape. When the word of God is on our heart, speaking truly from our hearts will not be problematic. In fact our wrds will be beautiful. Our language tells who we are, and if our language is wrapped in the word of God, and the love of God, it will be pure. However we must check the condition of our hearts.

The Scripture states, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.” What is stored up in our hearts? Before we come to Christ our hearts are full of anger, pain, sin, mistakes, grief, guilt, shame, the list goes on. Which is why we could not seem to get it right before we came to Christ because the contents of our heart did not match the lifestyle we were attempting to live.  I don’t know if you’ve ever heard the statement or the theory that hurt people hurt people, or that we as humans tend to project our feelings and views on other. So if our heart is full of evil and pain, and if it is broken. How are we going to speak to others, how are we going to speak about life, and what will we bring into this world? We bring into the world out of whatever is stored up in our hearts. However on the flip side, when we allow Christ into our lives and God begins to take away the blocks shielding our heart. When He begins to pick up the pieces and put them back together, When He begins to wipe away the sin. Shame, and guilt. When He begins to change and pour His word into us. Our lives begin to change because God works from the inside out. The contents of our hearts become like Christ and we begin to speak differently. We begin to view the world differently, view ourselves differently, and the way we speak changes.

All this to say, that the language of our hearts reveal and powerful message about what is in our hearts. Check your heart, and pay attention to the things you say and the things you want to say but stop yourself from doing so.

Reflection

  1. Have you ever had a moment where you said something and didn’t realize you were feeling that way?

Prayer Time

Take the time to further respond in whatever way you feel led. Have a conversation with God about the contents of your heart and ask him to search you and heal you. Ask Him to take away everything that is unlike Him.

I love you and I hope you have an amazing day or evening! Be sure to share this with someone and come back tomorrow for Day 259!

Day 225: Unpacking Romans 12- Bless Those Who Curse You

Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.

Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

One thing I’ve grown up being old is, “Kill them with kindness.” Meaning don’t treat people the same way they treat you. Don’t be mean just because they are being mean to you, the best thing you can do is kill them with kindness. Now I’m sure many of us have gotten to a point when we say, there’s only so much kindness to give, and eventually you’ll want to get back at them, whoever “them” is. You get tired of people being rude or disrespectful and want to tell them what’s on your mind.  Sometimes it’s hard not to say anything or do anything back to the people who intentionally try to hurt you or stir you up, especially when they know the exact buttons to push. But boy is it so rewarding. It’s so rewarding and a bit funny to see the reaction you will get when you refuse to get angry with someone.

One of the lessons I’ve learned is to just laugh it off. I am very sarcastic and I know it can be annoying to people who try to get to me. But I’ve learned that two angry people can get nowhere. It just turns into a screaming match, of who can scream the loudest and who can get the last word. I can get angry and stirred up, but when alls said and done, what will I have accomplished? Nothing. The best thing to do is diffuse the fire before it gets out of hand. I believe that this is the lesson here. God is telling us to turn the other cheek. He’s telling us not to get riled up and angry, but instead pray that He will bless the people who are out to get you. Pray the best for them. They are God’s children as well, that is very important to remember. We can take an example from Jesus, as with everything in life. Jesus was persecuted in the worst way, He was beat and spit on. He was talked about, but He responded with love. Even as the people were nailing Him to the cross He said “father forgive them for they know not what they do.” He knew that there was a bigger picture. He could have been angry at them, but instead He chose to forgive them, instead He chose to love them. When we think about it, it’s truly a beautiful image. To set yourself aside for the very person that is harming you and bringing you a world of pain.

My mom would always tell us growing up, “hurt people, Hurt people.” Meaning people who are hurt, do not want to hurt alone. You never really know why someone is treating you the way they are. Sometimes people act out because they themselves are hurting and they want someone to either feel the pain they feel or feel something worse. It’s a messed up disposition but it’s real. So many times I think that when we are called to turn the other cheek, or bless those who curse us, it is just as much for them as it is for us. While our faith might be being tested someone is being healed. It’s much deeper than just getting the last laugh or proving that you are mature.

All this to say, love everyone, even the ones that are hard to love. Bless the people that constantly curse you. In the end you will be proud of yourself for not engaging and you give the other person a chance to inspect themselves.

Reflection

  1. Have you ever been in the position where you had to walk away from someone who was angry with you?
  2. How are was it?
  3. Can you see the bigger picture in blessing the people who curse you and giving a soft answer?
  4. What is it?

Prayer Time

Allow your answers to the above questions guide your prayer today. Ask God to help you learn to pray for those who curse you and help you hold your tongue. Pray for self-control. Whatever is on your heart today, talk to God about it.

I love you, and I hope you have an amazing day or evening. Be sure to share this with someone and come back tomorrow for day 226!

Day 104: Hurt By Love

Psalms 55:12-14

For it is not an enemy who taunts me then I could bear it;
it is not an adversary who deals insolently with me then I could hide from him. But it is you, a man, my equal,   my companion, my familiar friend. We used to take sweet counsel together;
within God's house we walked in the throng.

I know so many people who have turned their backs on love or closed themselves off to love because they have been hurt by people who said they loved them. They claim to be hurt by love, “if this is what love feels like I don’t want it.”

There is so much honesty in the scriptures above. David is saying, it’s not a stranger taunting me, if it were I could bear it. But it is my brother, my friend, my equal, my companion, that hurts me. We used to be friends, we used to talk, I used to be able to trust you, but at some point your love turned to hate. Many of us can relate to these words David is speaking so honestly, many of us have been in this position. It’s not the people be barely know or we don’t associate with much that breaks our hearts. We could bear that pain, but it becomes unbearable when it’s close to you. It’s the people we trust, the ones we love, it’s the relationships we’ve invested in that cause us the most heartache. When you love someone, in any way, you are emotionally attached to that person. When you trust someone, the worst thing they could do is betray that trust. It’s the people we care about most that cause the deepest wounds within us.
Another place many people experience the most pain is the church. Ironic, I know, but I have known so many people, myself included, who have walked away from the church because they we hurt so deeply by the people that claim to be Christ followers. A lot of this comes from hate, which is the opposite of God. I know people who lead ‘different lifestyles’ are often shunned by the church. The biggest group this happens to is the LGBTQ+ community. I have met too many people who have sought to come to Christ and been bashed by the church, and even gone as far to be kicked out of church. That is not the love of God. God loves ALL PEOPLE every single one of us, He loves. We don’t get to decide who should receive God’s love and who shouldn’t, we are not God. Too often this treatment comes from the church. The place that is supposed to be overflowing with love.
Church hurt is the worst hurt. It’s a place where we go for healing, fellowship, and place where healing takes place. But many times it is the opposite.
I can say from experience that these experience will make you want to give up on love completely. I remember going through a time when all of my “friends” who I considered family turned on me. They did so much prior to this, but they all up and left, walked out of my life, and shattered everything as they left. Not only did they do that but they continued to deepen the wounds as secrets and envy was uncovered and brought to the light. I felt like I was going to die. It felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest and millions of people were trampling over it. I was so heart broken that I felt the pain physically. I could not stop crying. I would be okay for a second and I would just start crying. My heart was shattered. But… there was still a piece of me, a very small piece of me that knew that God’s love is not like this. It took so much for me to even come to terms with that. Because these people were church going people, they claimed to be Christians. If the church people can treat me like this and not care, can I really trust anyone to truly love like God? Questions I had as I went through this time. But God…
-Dyamond

Let me be the first to tell you if you haven’t heard, God’s love is not that way. God’s love cannot be tainted. God’ love cannot be reversed. God’s love is unconditional, it does not hurt. God’s love can heal the hurts caused by those who claimed to love you. God can take your broken heart and nurse it back to health with love alone. God shows us how we are to love, but He also shows us how we are to be loved. He loves us the way we should be loved, unconditionally. He will never decide one day that we are unworthy of His love, we are so worthy that He sent His son to die for us. Love should not cause pain, it should not hurt. When we truly know the love of God we will know how to love others, and ourselves unconditionally. We cannot know love if we do not know God. We cannot give love if we do not know the love of God. God is love, and God is perfect, His love is perfect. It will never hurt or harm you.

Psalms 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

You might have been hurt by people who said they love you, but God loves you so much more and He has the love that will heal that broken heart. You might have experienced it in the church, but God can show you what it truly looks like to receive Godly love. Know that God’s love is the greatest love of all. Love doesn’t and should not hurt.

Luke 23:34
And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.

God provides healing to broken hearts, and He also gives us the ability to forgive. We must forgive the people who hurt us the most, it is the only way we can truly move on, and even be healed ourselves. Once that wound is closed, there’s no need to keep opening it again with unforgiveness. The hardest part will be having to forgive someone when they never apologized or acknowledged what they did. Sometimes we have to accept an apology we will never receive. Once you forgive, let it go, it’s hard to forget, but let it go, do not let it affect your life any longer. God can and will free you from the pain, and bring you to forgiveness.

Reflection
  1. Have you been hurt by people who said they love you?
  2. Have you been hurt by the church?
  3. How did it affect the way you receive and give love?
  4. Have you been rejected by the church?
  5. Do you believe that the love of God can heal you?
  6. Do you think that you are able to forgive the people who have hurt you?

Prayer Time
Allow you answers to the above questions guide your prayer today. If you have been hurt by love, or the church, or are going through having your heart broken, bring it to God. Every piece, lay it at His feet. Know that, no matter who you are, God loves you. He loves you so much. And you are so worthy of His love.

I love you so much, and I hope you have an amazing day or evening! Make sure you share this with someone and come back tomorrow for day 105?

Day 100: Recap

Day 93: Let's Talk About It - "Forbidden Subjects"

We started the week by kicking off the "Let's Talk About It" Series. This series was dedicated to the things you told me you wanted to talk about. This series is meant to start a conversation and talk about the things that are usually pushed to the side in church. I call these forbidden subjects, because they are often pushed off as sin and when they are talked about it is very cautious, we don't want to get too deep. Well we rebutted that ting week and talked about it.  We focused on Mark 7:8 today.

Day 94: Let's Talk About It -"Broken People"

Today we focused on Psalms 34:28, and 147:3. We talked about how we have so many people including ourselves walking around broken and how sometimes people tend to overlook it.
"We live in an era where everything must be okay, and when it’s not we put up a facade. This generation has the best poker faces I have ever seen. Because we don’t have time to deal with people who are really suffering, even if that means we ignore our own pain. We don’t have time to dig deep down to the root of our issues and be healed by God. We cover it up with a band-aid until the infection spreads and we can no longer hide it. "

Day 95: Let's Talk About It - "Single and Waiting on God"

Today's devo was dedicated to my single people. Being single is a great reward as we use the time to really find ourselves in Christ and be defined by who He is. However there is a flip side to being in your twenties and single, it gets lonely. We focused on a few scriptures today, 1 Corinthians 7:32-34, Matthew 5: 27-28, and Ecclesiastes 3:1.
"I am well aware of how hard it is to be single sometimes. Most of the time it’s good, we are enjoying life without the worries of being attached to anyone. We are enjoying building friendships and platonic relationships. We’re enjoying finding ourselves and learning more about ourselves everyday,  but some days it’s just hard not to be lonely. A lot of times this loneliness is brought on by sexual urges, and let me tell you, they will blindside you. We have to make sure that we are covered with the full armor of God, because these ditches of temptation are the hardest to jump over."

Day 96: Let's Talk About - "Relationships and Sex"

Today was dedicated to our people in relationships and we talked about sex. We focused on Song of Solomon 8:7, Matthew6:33, 2 Corinthians 6:14, 18-19.
"Romance and love is a big part of many of our lives at the moment, rather we are dating, in a committed relationship, engaged to be married, or married already. I think the biggest questions we have when it comes to question is, what is a Godly relationship, and how do we have one. The first step to having a relationship with anyone else is having a relationship with God, and finding our worth and identity within Him. Same as yesterday, there are a few topics of discussion. "

Day 97: Let's Talk About It - "Why We Serve God"

Today we lightened the subjects up a little bit, stepped into the semi shallow ends of the pool. We talked about why we serve God. We focused on Genesis 2:7, 1 John 4:19, and John 3:16.
"I have learned that I am nothing without God. I don’t exist without Him and I cannot live apart from Him. I have seen God’s faithfulness first hand, and I have learned to trust him more and more with my life. God is the only person who has never let me down. God is the only person who is constantly there for me even when I didn’t acknowledge His presence in my life. I need God every second of everyday."

Day 98: God Brought Me This Far...

Today we talked about being grateful for where God has us, because we often focus on where we are going but we must learn to dwell in the moment, as it was one where we're going. We focused on Philippians 1:6 and 1 Timothy 6:6.
"I think our generation believes that we can't be happy until we are where we want to be. We base our happiness on our “success” We aren’t content with the present, we are constantly moving and rushing towards the future because that’s where we want to be, and we miss the adventures and the beauty of where we are. If we are constantly running for the future and what is ahead of us, we will never have time to stop and enjoy the present because we are constantly moving. It won’t allow us to stop, because at one point the past and the present were the future, and if we keep rushing through them because we want something more, we will miss what God is doing right in front of our eyes."

I love you, I hope you have an amazing day or evening! Make sure you share this with someone and be sure to come back tomorrow for Day 101! HappySunday everyone!

Day 95: Let's Talk About It- "Broken People"

Psalms 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Psalms 34:28
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

This generation gets a lot of slack for acting out, we are constantly told to get our lives together. I think many times when we see people who are acting out, or having a hard time giving themselves to Christ, we must consider that these are broken people. We live in an age where people are walking around completely broken with a smile on their face. People are walking around ready to take their own lives but will smile and say, “I’m okay”. Why do we wait until tragedy strikes to notice that someone needed our ear, or they needed our prayer. They didn’t need us to beat them over the head with a bible, they needed us to be there. We have people walking around feeling unloved, and never knew that someone could love them. We are often told what we did to be in the position that we are in. Something we have to realize is that sin isn’t the only thing that causes brokenness within humanity, There is heartbreak, relationships gone wrong, death, mental illness, tragic accidents, natural disasters. There are so many things that can break a heart, but only one can truly heal a heart. Yet we have people walking around because they are unaware of this magnificent healing. We know of this healing, we know that Christ is our healer, but can we relay that message to the young girl who suffers from an eating disorder and cuts herself. Can we tell that to the young boy struggling with body image issues. Can we acknowledge that there is a deeper issue to the brokenness of people.  We are good at acknowledging pain and hurt, but what are we doing to make sure these people receive healing from God? Why are brushing off people’s pain? We have been told to let it go, let God, surrender, but what about when the wound is fresh and we can’t let it go that night or day. What if just lifting our hands in church won’t take the pain away, I have to be honest. Why do we sweep these things under the rug and act as if they are not there. There are broken people, we were once one of them, and many of us still are.
As the body of Christ we must see past what we think of people, we must look past our judgements and see the heart of humanity. We have to take our eyes off of ourselves for a second and look outward to see the brokenness of this world.
We see the flaws of humanity, and but we don’t see the heart of man. If we did we would know that the person who is walking down the street talking to themselves isn’t crazy they lost everything including hope and no one took the chance to listen to their story. No one took the time to sit with them and lend an ear. No one stopped to pray for them. No one took the time to tell them that there is healing in the Lord, that He sees the hearts of humanity even the ones that are in pieces.

We live in an era where everything must be okay, and when it’s not we put up a facade. We have lost the ability to be vulnerable, we’d rather walk around dying on the inside than go to someone with our pain. We do not want to look weak, even when we are, The scripture tells us that God is near the brokenhearted, why are we walking around harboring pain. We have to realize that it is okay not to be okay.

I walked around broken for so many years, harboring so much pain, anger, self-loathing, hate, the list goes on. From being bullied all throughout school starting at the age of five. From looking in the mirror at the age of seven and hating who I was, and literally saying to myself, “You’re black and ugly”. To choking and hitting myself at the age of eight because the bullying was so bad, I felt like I needed to inflict pain on myself. I suffered secretly for years, and alway put on a smile and pretended like I was okay. It was only when I was twenty one that I really found healing in Christ. I felt like I always had to be okay, I had to put on a mask that said I was strong and confident even though I was broken. I was in pieces, there was still a little girl inside me who never got healed. I was walking around preaching at different churches at the age of sixteen and planned out my suicide at seventeen because I was in so much turmoil that I could not handle it anymore. Or when I had a mental breakdown when I lost my father at the age of eighteen. Because I blamed myself for His death and couldn’t understand why GOd would choose to take him from me. I gave up on GOd and church, but I had people praying for me, there were a few people who could see past my poker face, and that is why I am here today. Someone looked past my acting out and my mask and saw that I was broken. I am living proof that Christ is our healer. I did not have a platform or a place to really talk about what I was going through at the time, which is why I’m doing this, If I have to air my dirty laundry to save someone else I will do it. But God healed me and repaired my heart and if someone didn’t take the time to sit with me and pray for me and see through my pain, I would not be here today. I would probably be dead by my own hand. It is important that we talk about this stuff because it can literally save a life.

We live in a broken world and people are walking around broken. We know what it is like to be broken our have our hearts broken. If we have encountered the love of God we know what it is like to be healed by our one and only healer. We must  let people know that their is a God, there is a Savior who can take that pain away.

I don’t know who you are but if that’s you, know that there is a Savior. Jesus Christ died to save this broken world, he wants that heart, even if it’s broken. Especially if it’s broken. Even if you have to give it to Him in pieces, he will take it and put it back together. You’re not crazy, you’re not a bad person, you’re hurting. Today is the day for you to get rid of that pain, and start a journey of healing. You do not have to hide it or cover it up. God sees your heart in every condition and He wants it the way it is, so that he can fix it and heal it.

Reflection
  1. How’s your heart? Are you broken?
  2. Are there some things that need to be healed in your life?
  3. Are you walking around like everything is okay but it’s not?
  4. Do you believe that God is our healer?
  5. Do you believe that He can and will heal you?

Prayer Time
Allow your answers to the above questions  guide your prayer today. Know that God is our healer. We call Him, Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals. Pray for the brokenness of humanity, and if you are broken, bring that heart to God today. Talk to GOd about whatever it is, maybe you don’t even have words, maybe it's tears, maybe you don’t even have that. Just open your heart to God and give HIm what you have. Know that He can heal the broken.
